velveteen rabbit practice...

A friend recently reintroduced me to the story of the velveteen rabbit...it's stayed with me lately in the hustle bustle of the season, struggling in my own day-to-day foibles that we all have...its easy to get caught up in what you don't get to, rather than what you do.
Similarly, we are given so much opportunity to see what we're lacking, and its so easy to internalize that. The velveteen rabbit is precious, not in spite of worn buttons and frayed ears, but because of it. We are precious and amazing because of our frailities, not in spite of it. Let this practice cradle and lovingly those worn parts, and celebrate the whole of you! In each pose, draw inside, to the goodness that resides within you. Through your practice of integrating the poses with the breath, you draw in to illuminate that goodness. And...it grows. it shines. Let that star within you be the one that guides you this season.
Peace and blessings.
