In his book "Peace in Every Step", Thich Nhat Hanh wrote a lovely story about washing dishes, of all things. He used washing dishes as a powerful example of our need to stay continously present, even in less desirable tasks or moments.
We all have unfortunate and challenging parts of our lives, but mindful awareness during those parts can bring us knowledge, and quiet calm even in the most undesirable chores, resulting perhaps in newfound sacred peace. I am learning, this is a process.
Today's class focused on making those less desirable moments sacred.
