Pete and I have lillies of the valley coming up in our crazy backyard. Why is it crazy? There's a veritable beaver dam of brush and branches in the middle, taking up half of the yard where we've done some very necessary chainsawing. Where the brush isn't, there's all sorts of Mother Nature's signs of spring arriving. Bleeding hearts, peonies, daylillies and even columbines.
As I walked through the yard this morning with all of my work stuff, purse, coffee, I was overcome with how beautiful the flowers are. So often, I trample through the yard, glance over at the imminent chores to get our yard more presentable, or I'm relieved to be coming home, or looking forward to the travel I'm about to embark upon...the list goes on. I chose this morning to see the beauty, to see the miracles. This chaotic yard is something we all have--- in our lives, minds and hearts. How can you draw more of your thoughts towards the miracle of the present?
