Summertime...what does it mean to you? This season always strikes me as one all people celebrate. Watermelon, Sun tea, flower gardens, butterflies, hammocks, waterskiing, flipflops, baseball games, fireworks, farmers markets, iced coffee, frisbee, berry picking...Oh my! I like to think about all of our summer rituals as bringing us closer to the practice of finding the beauty and the magic, in all seasons, yes over time even in Minnesota winters! Slowly and incrementally, this practice can teach us how to find grace in each moment. There are TONS of ways each day we can celebrate what avails itself from our world. Pete and I signed up for our first Crop Share this summer, bringing us pounds of fresh veggies each week from Hogs Back Farm, in nearby Wisconsin. How are you learning to celebrating the season and your moments...?
Hint: listen to Ella Fitzgerald & Louis Armstrong's "Summertime" for inspiration. Oh la la.
