I shared my minnesota/wisconsin conspiracy at class this morning, which is:
We commiserate about the winter weather (currently negative 6 degrees) because we don't want the secret to get out much we enjoy the weather and the area.
It's easy to see the miracle and wonder in the spring with all of the growth, how flowers grow moment by moment. It takes a bit more intention to see the miracle and wonder in wintry weather. But....it's there.
What I love so much about this weather is that people really revel in it...Pond Hockey Championships, broomball, windsailing on snowboards on frozen lakes, the artists' Ice Shanty Project on Medicine Lake...our community celebrates all weather, which reminds us to find the grace in all weather, and in all situations.
Just like on our mat, we gravitate towards the 'springtime' poses that are easy to find success and grace in...There is such opportunity in the "winter" poses...the ones we clench up and get scared of...to be courageous, and explore that can reveal so much...so much grace, within you and surrounding you.
Thanks to Erin Mcerlain for the photo.
